About the Role As an Apprentice in your first year at Ford and Mazda Germiston, you will engage in a hands-on learning experience within the automotive industry. This role centres around gaining practical skills and knowledge in vehicle maintenance, repair, and servicing, while adhering to company standards and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities – Assist skilled technicians in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems. – Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. – Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area and tools. – Follow established guidelines for safety and quality control during all tasks. – Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your technical skills and automotive knowledge. – Document work completed and report any issues or learnings to your supervisor promptly. – Develop familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software used in the repair process. – Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service. Requirements – A relevant technical qualification or matriculation certificate. – Demonstrable interest in automotive technology and a desire to learn. – Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. – Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. – Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications – Experience in a workshop or mechanical environment would be an advantage. – A valid drivers license or willingness to obtain one. – Familiarity with vehicle servicing and repair processes is a plus. – Technical certifications or courses related to automotive repair are desired but not essential.
