About the Role
This role is strictly suited to professionals with current or recent CIB credit risk experience and offers direct exposure to senior credit committees, high-value transactions, and full ownership of a strategic resources portfolio. You will operate within a highly structured and well-governed credit environment recognised for sophisticated deal execution and disciplined risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage credit risk for a defined Corporate & Investment Banking resources and project finance portfolio
- Perform detailed credit risk assessments using financial, industry, and macro-economic analysis
- Prepare and present high-quality credit applications and recommendations to credit and risk committees
- Manage the full credit lifecycle, including origination support, implementation, monitoring, restructuring, and reviews
- Produce monthly portfolio risk MI and present insights to senior management
- Monitor covenant compliance, security positions, and emerging risks with early identification and escalation
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal business units and specialist stakeholders
Requirements
- Education (Minimum Requirements): Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification preferred (CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years experience within a Corporate & Investment Banking credit risk environment
- Proven exposure to Mining, Project Finance, and/or Oil & Gas transactions
- Strong experience across the full credit lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience presenting to senior credit committees
