About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to join our team at Zecutive Consultants in Pretoria East. As a Primavera expert with a passion for mega project planning, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring consistency and reliable progress reporting, and highlighting any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and setting up of project schedule with project stakeholders’ input using Primavera and/or MS projects
- Following project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects
- Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting
- Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice
- Implement planning logic, understanding inter dependencies and knock-on effects
- Highlight critical path and resource loading issues
- Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules
- Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time – raise early warnings with possible impacts to project schedule
- Weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting
- Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports
- Spend time on site either part of the week/month, or full time on-site, based on the project phase
Requirements
- Related qualification
- 4-6+ years’ Primavera Planning experience in the mining/power plants and/or infrastructure industries
- Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and feasibility phases of projects
- Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential
- Sound Understanding of installation projects in Power Plants / infrastructure construction / mining environments
- Consulting experience highly recommended
- Driven ‘Can-do’ attitude, with a passion for mega project planning
- Process orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirements
- Able to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the outputs
- Analytical thinker, energetic and flexible
- Fluent in English and have a good understanding of Afrikaans to communicate effectively in bilingual meetings
Salary & Benefits
Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Client provides on-site accommodation and pays for travel expenses to site
