About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Head Homekeeper to join our team at a luxury lodge in Kruger National Park, South Africa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of homekeeping services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee outsourced laundry processes and ensure quality guest and lodge laundry service
  • Train, develop, and performance manage staff to maintain productivity and morale
  • Monitor maintenance issues, create snag lists, and uphold Style & Design standards
  • Manage homekeeping stock, consumables, and lodge uniforms within budget limitations
  • Conduct daily room checks to ensure guest suite readiness
  • Maintain accurate records, monthly stock takes, and departmental reporting
  • Recruit, induct, and manage probationary check ins for new staff
  • Discipline staff in line with company Code of Conduct
  • Control and compile homekeeping budgets accurately
  • Develop and maintain effective systems, SOPs, and training materials
  • Attend daily lodge meetings to align operations and special requests
  • Contribute to sustainable lodge operations aligned with One Planet Living Principles

Requirements

  • Knowledge of world class homekeeping standards and procedures
  • Strong command of English (reading, writing, and communication)
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail
  • Agility and stamina for physically strenuous work
  • Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong administration ability (procurement and stock control)

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a similar establishment
