About the Role

Career Pathfinders is seeking an experienced Head Chef to join our team at our 4-star boutique lodge in Springbok, Northern Cape. We require a skilled chef to manage our evening dinner service for in-house guests during the Namaqualand flower season (August to October 2026). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing buffet-style dinners for up to 34 guests, ensuring high standards of quality, flavour, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare buffet-style dinners for up to 34 guests
• Create varied menus with a focus on quality, flavour, and consistency
• Cater for dietary requirements when required
• Manage food preparation, cooking, buffet setup, and kitchen cleanup
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Assist with stock control and minimising food waste
• Operate independently within the lodge kitchen

Requirements

• Previous experience as a lodge, guesthouse, hotel, restaurant, or catering chef
• Comfortable working independently
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Experience with buffet service for groups of 20–40 guests
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
