Job Description
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of community outreach programmes and service centre activities
- Assist the Social Worker with social work-related tasks, interventions, and client support services
- Facilitate and present training sessions and group activities as directed by the Community Development Officer / Social Worker
- Maintain accurate, organised, and up-to-date administrative records and departmental documentation
- Drive attendance and participation at service centre programmes and activities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and district partners
- Support the coordination and development of a volunteer programme and active volunteer base
- Assist with case-related administrative tasks, reporting, and documentation
- Ensure efficient resource management within programme activities
- Compile and submit reports and administrative tasks timeously
- Promote engagement, wellbeing, and developmental support for older persons
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Social Auxiliary Worker (Certificate in Auxiliary Social Work / Community Development)
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)
- 2–5 years’ experience in social fieldwork
- Minimum 2 years’ practical experience working with older persons
- Experience in community development or similar social auxiliary work
- Administrative experience with strong record-keeping skills
- Project management and organisational skills
- Knowledge of developmental needs of older persons
- Strong communication and public speaking ability
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
- Empathetic, professional, and community-focused approach
- Creative, confident, and self-assured
- Strong team player with leadership potential
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when required
- Professional presentation and conduct (brand ambassador mindset)
- Code 8 driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential)
