About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our construction administration team, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation and submission of payment claims, valuations, and other documentation required for project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure works from drawings and site for: Monthly subcontractor payment certificates
- Progress valuations
- Variations and dayworks
- Prepare and update subcontractor measurement sheets and claim backup
- Assist with final account measurements
- Subcontractor Payment Administration
- Receive, check and prepare monthly subcontractor payment claims
- Reconcile claimed quantities against site progress
- Prepare payment certificates for approval by the Project QS
- Track retention, materials on site and payment status
- Site & Contract Administration
- Maintain accurate records of: Site Instructions Variation orders Correspondence and claim support
- Assist with JBCC-compliant documentation and registers
- Verify work completed on site to support claims and valuations
Requirements
- BSc in Quantity Surveying
- 12 years experience in a contractor or site-based QS role
- Exposure to: Measurement, Subcontractor payment claims, High End Residential
- Working knowledge of JBCC contracts
- Basic familiarity with CCS Candy or Excel-based measurement systems
