Job Description

Drive operational excellence in procurement within a high-performance professional services environment. Take ownership of systems, processes, and governance while shaping a smarter, more efficient procurement function. This role sits at the centre of procurement operations, responsible for ensuring compliance, data integrity, supplier governance, and efficient purchasing workflows. You will lead a small team and oversee the full operational procurement lifecycle, from supplier onboarding to spend reporting, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls. Working closely with Finance, Risk, and IT, you will play a key role in strengthening procurement frameworks, supporting sourcing initiatives, and delivering insights that enhance commercial decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong execution and the ability to step back and improve how things are done. What You’ll Do Lead day-to-day procurement operations and ensure policy compliance Oversee purchase order workflows, supplier onboarding, and documentation accuracy Maintain ERP systems, vendor data integrity, and approved supplier lists Deliver monthly spend reporting, insights, and procurement analytics Identify inefficiencies and implement process and workflow improvements Supervise and support a team of Procurement Administrators Manage supplier lifecycle, due diligence, and performance tracking Coordinate RFP, RFQ, and sourcing processes including evaluation and reporting Oversee contract governance, renewals, and repository management Support BBBEE compliance and preferential procurement tracking Ensure audit readiness and accurate record keeping across procurement activities What You Bring 5–7 years’ procurement experience in an operationally focused role Relevant degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration Experience leading or supervising a procurement team Strong ERP system experience and data governance capability Exposure to process improvement and workflow redesign Solid Excel skills and reporting capability Understanding of contract management and supplier negotiations Knowledge of BBBEE procurement requirements is advantageous High attention to detail with strong compliance discipline What Success Looks Like Procurement operations run efficiently with strong governance and minimal risk Accurate, reliable data supports decision-making and reporting Supplier base is well-managed, compliant, and optimised Procurement processes are continuously improved and streamlined Strong collaboration with Finance, Risk, and business stakeholders A capable, well-supported team delivering consistent results
