About the Role
NLP is seeking an experienced Events and Functions Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As the face of our events, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional experiences that exceed client expectations. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction and attention to detail, we are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual to lead our event planning and execution efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, plan, and manage all aspects of events, including venue selection, scheduling, and logistical coordination.
- Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and goals, providing professional advice and tailored proposals.
- Act as the primary liaison with suppliers and vendors to ensure all services are delivered on time.
- Supervise event setup, tear-down, and live operations, troubleshooting issues to ensure a smooth experience.
- Train, and supervise event staff, assigning tasks and ensuring high standards of customer service.
- Coordinate marketing activities, including creating promotional materials and managing attendee communications.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to collect feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with vendors and managing client relationships.
- Exceptional time-management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle last-minute changes or emergencies.
- Proven experience as an Event and Functions Manager in the hospitality industry.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
