About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Import Supply & Procurement Manager to take full operational ownership of our end-to-end import supply, international procurement, and replenishment functions. As a key member of our team, you will oversee all aspects of import supply, including factory loading, shipping, and warehouse delivery. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a solution-driven mindset who can handle multiple moving parts under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Import Procurement & Replenishment: Manage end-to-end procurement cycles aligned with forecasting requirements, tracking supplier production timelines, and optimizing stock levels.
- Supply Planning & Forecasting: Partner with management using Netstock to analyze sales trends, challenge forecasting assumptions, and mitigate stock-out or overstock risks.
- Shipping & Import Operations: Track inbound international shipments, monitor vessel schedules, clear customs, plan container utilization, and troubleshoot port/vessel delays.
- Inventory & Warehouse Coordination: Work closely with warehouse and operations teams regarding inbound scheduling, stock allocations, regional transfers, and managing slow-moving or aging stock.
- Systems & Reporting: Act as the system power-user on Business Central and Excel, building and maintaining shipment trackers, ETA reports, pipeline schedules, and inventory risk dashboards.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, import shipping, or international supply planning.
- Industry: Prior experience within an FMCG, food, beverage, distribution, or imported goods environment is highly advantageous.
- System Proficiency: Proven practical experience working within an ERP system (preferably D365 Business Central) and a supply planning platform (preferably Netstock).
- Advanced Excel proficiency is essential.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or Commerce is preferred; however, exceptional practical operational experience will be considered.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R40,000 to R60,000 CTC (experience dependent)
