Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Field Support & Network Administrator to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing onsite technical support to clients, focusing on network infrastructure, Active Directory administration, Microsoft 365 support, and end-user troubleshooting.
This role requires a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, user support, cloud services, and IT infrastructure maintenance. The candidate will work directly at client sites, ensuring reliable IT operations, minimal downtime, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities Network Support & Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and network devices
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues
- Configure and support TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN connectivity
- Monitor and maintain network performance and uptime
- Diagnose and resolve internet and connectivity-related issues
- Assist with structured cabling installations and network point setups
Active Directory & User Administration
- Create, manage, and maintain Active Directory user accounts and permissions
- Manage Group Policies (GPOs)
- Configure user access, password resets, and security permissions
- Support domain-joined environments and workstation setups
- Troubleshoot authentication and login issues
Microsoft 365 Administration & Support
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments including:
- Exchange Online
- Outlook
- Teams
- SharePoint
- OneDrive
- Create and manage Microsoft 365 user accounts and licenses
- Troubleshoot email, synchronization, and access issues
- Configure and support Microsoft Office applications
- Assist clients with Microsoft 365 migrations and onboarding
Desktop & End-User Support
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to end users
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Diagnose hardware and software issues
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and preventative maintenance
- Escalate complex technical issues where necessary
Client Support & Service Delivery
- Deliver professional onsite support to clients
- Ensure timely resolution of support tickets and incidents
- Maintain clear communication with clients regarding issues and resolutions
- Document work completed and maintain accurate support records
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant IT qualification or diploma/certificate
- 25 years experience in IT support, networking, or MSP environment
- Experience supporting multiple client environments
- Experience working onsite at client locations
Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP
- DNS
- DHCP
- VPNs
- Wireless networking
- VLANs
- Experience with:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Windows Server environments
- Windows 10/11 support
- Basic understanding of networking hardware and infrastructure
- Experience troubleshooting connectivity and user issues

- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft Certified Fundamentals / Associate certifications
- Cisco CCNA
- MTCNA
- Microsoft 365 Certified
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
