Johannesburg: Head Of Digital Enablement

Job Description

The Digital Enablement & Business Technology Manager is responsible for aligning business strategy and technology execution across Rosebank College. This role leads the translation of academic, operational and student experience priorities into a practical digital roadmap that enhances student success, improves operational efficiency, strengthens compliance, and enables data-driven decision-making across campuses and central support functions. The role acts as the strategic interface between Business and IT, ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable institutional value. Key Accountabilities / Position Description Digital Strategy & Institutional Alignment · Translate Rosebank College and ADvTECH Higher Education strategy into a prioritised Digital Enablement Roadmap. · Align digital initiatives to institutional priorities, including: o Student recruitment, retention and throughput o Academic delivery and blended learning enablement o Student support services o Regulatory and accreditation compliance o Operational efficiency and cost optimisation · Ensure technology initiatives are value-driven, outcome-based and aligned to institutional strategy. · Establish clear value metrics for digital investments (e.g. retention uplift, process cycle reduction, cost-to-serve, improved student satisfaction). Student & Academic Digital Enablement · In conjunction with the Brand General Managers and AIT, ensure the effective use of the Student Information System (SIMS), Teaching and Learning Platforms (ARC, etc) and related platforms. · Work with the respective managers / Capability Heads to improve digital integration across the student lifecycle: o Lead, Application and Enrolment o Academic progression and throughput o Assessments and results o Graduation and alumni · Support blended and online learning in partnership with the Academic Head. · Enhance digital tools that support student engagement, early warning systems and academic performance analytics. Business Process Optimisation & Automation · In conjunction with the Rosebank College capability heads, identify process inefficiencies across campuses and support functions. · In conjunction with AIT, lead automation and workflow optimisation initiatives in areas such as: o SIMS o Finance o HR and Payroll o Customer Services · In conjunction with AIT, implement reporting automation and dashboarding for leadership decision-making. · Plan and drive continuous improvement initiatives with the Rosebank College and AIT capabilities heads. Data, Analytics & Decision Support · In conjunction with the Rosebank College and AIT capability heads, strengthen data quality, governance and reporting capabilities. · Align with AIT and the Academic Head to establish reliable management dashboards across: o Student retention o Academic performance & throughput o Operational efficiency o Financial performance · Align with the AQMS ACE Capability to promote data literacy and evidence-based decision-making. · Partner with the AIT Capabilities team to improve integration, data pipelines and system interoperability. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership · Serve as the primary business-facing technology lead for campuses and align with the AIT central function. · Facilitate structured engagement with AIT, Academic Head, Student Services, Finance, HR and Marketing. · Lead change management for digital adoption and process transformation. · Drive user adoption, training and capability building across Rosebank College capabilities. Governance, Risk & Compliance · Ensure all digital initiatives align with: o DHET and CHE regulatory requirements o POPIA and data privacy standards o ADvTECH IT governance and cybersecurity policies o ADvTECH Group · Support audit readiness through improved system controls and documentation. · Ensure responsible use of AI and emerging technologies in academic and administrative contexts Leadership & Capability Development · Lead and develop a cross-functional digital enablement capability (Business Analysts, Process Analysts, Reporting Specialists). · Promote digital skills development across Rosebank College Capabilities. · Embed project delivery practices where appropriate. · Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
