About the Role
The Sawmill Supervisor â Wood Pallet Manufacturing role is a critical position in our manufacturing environment, responsible for overseeing daily factory operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently, quality standards are maintained, and safety compliance is enforced.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities to meet output targets
- Implement production schedules as directed by the Operations Manager
- Monitor workflow, material usage, and machine performance
- Ensure efficient use of machinery and minimize downtime
- Assist with stock control of raw materials and finished goods
- Report production progress and challenges to management
- Supervise and coordinate production staff on shift
- Train, guide, and support team members
- Monitor employee performance and productivity
- Enforce company policies and workplace discipline
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Support labor-related matters in line with company procedures
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in wood processing, pallet manufacturing, sawmill operations, or related industries
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within production or factory operations
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Good understanding of OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements
- Computer literate (MS Office, basic reporting systems)
- Experience with production monitoring and reporting systems
