About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a highly motivated and analytically skilled Actuarial Analyst to join their team in Waterfall, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting complex actuarial research and analysis to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse data and statistical models to assess and quantify risk in insurance products and financial investments.
- Develop and maintain actuarial models to forecast future financial performance and evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies.
- Assist in pricing insurance products and developing underwriting guidelines based on actuarial analysis.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide actuarial support and insights on business initiatives.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in actuarial analysis within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong technical skills in Excel, SQL, and actuarial software (e.g. Prophet, SAS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Progress towards actuarial exams (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent) is a plus.
