About the Role
We are expanding our global people team at our organization and adding a new HR Business Partner to our collaborative team. Our People team work to ensure that our workplace is the best environment to inspire success in our people.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering thought leadership to our leaders in South Africa and across the wider business on all people-related matters.
- Use people-related data to guide decision making.
- Coach managers on leading and managing their teams with an emphasis on emotional intelligence.
- Partner with managers to solve complex Employee Relations cases and address the root cause of these.
- Support leaders through the performance management cycle to embed a high performance culture within their teams.
- Work with the wider global People Team on a range of people projects, policy development, and company initiatives.
- Build a strategic people plan to align with the company’s SA growth plan
- Work with the Head of People Partnering to devise and deliver against a people plan within the local office.
- Work with the Head of People Partnering to devise and implement appropriate people solutions for South African team members while considering any global impact.
- Support workforce planning.
- Promote and embed equitable workforce strategies through Diversity & Inclusion plans.
- Be a subject matter expert on local labor law, ensuring we are fully compliant with all applicable legislation, and local policies are up to date, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Equity, Skills development Act Labour Relations Act, BCEA, BBBEEE and related governmental agencies.
- Own registration at relevant SETA, UIF, Compensation Commission.
- Benefit administration for local benefits plans and be the local expert on compensation and benefits.
- Partner with People Operations and payroll to ensure accurate people data, compliance and administration.
- Partner with People Growth to ensure that we lead the way on culture and people development.
Requirements
- Experience as a commercially focused People Partner
- Proven ability in challenging stakeholders via coaching, mentoring and the use of data
- Leading people projects with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration
- Adaptable and resilient a resourceful trouble shooter when faced with unexpected challenges
- Solid understanding in South African labor law (e.g CCMA, BCEA, LRA, and EE Act) and curious to explore and learn relevant employment law for locations outside of the South Africa as part of our global team
- Proven ability in managing complex employee relations cases independently
- Experience of benefits and compensation
- Proactive, with a can-do attitude
- Knowledgeable on best practice people activity and passion for continuous learning and improvement
- M&A experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
