About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Procurement Manager to join our luxury private game reserve in Sabi Sands, South Africa. As a critical operational role, you will oversee all procurement and purchasing functions to ensure efficient supply chain management, strong cost control, and effective stock handling in a remote lodge environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and uphold procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal controls and audit requirements
• Manage the full procurement cycle, ensuring timely sourcing and delivery of goods
• Anticipate operational needs to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential items
• Continuously review procurement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Manage supplier onboarding, credit applications, and records
• Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts
• Resolve supplier issues proactively and professionally
• Oversee all stock management processes across departments
• Minimise wastage, shrinkage, and stock losses
• Coordinate and supervise monthly stock takes
• Manage store categories including food, beverages, consumables, maintenance, chemicals, and equipment
• Prepare and manage procurement budgets
• Monitor expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Produce accurate monthly procurement and stock reports
• Support financial controls and reporting standards
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing role (hospitality preferred)
Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sage X3)
Experience with HMS Infor advantageous
Strong numerical, analytical, and budgeting skills
Excellent command of English (written and verbal)
Salary & Benefits
R27,000
Food allowance: Additional to salary
