About the Role

A dynamic and experienced Chef de Partie is sought after to join a busy daytime Restaurant in Rosebank, specializing in excellent breakfast cookery and hot line meals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking food in the hot line while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food on their assigned station, including tasks like chopping vegetables, mixing sauces, and cooking entrees and side dishes.
  • Adhere to established recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistent quality and flavour.
  • Present dishes attractively and ensure they are ready for service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Manage inventory levels, stocking stations, and ensure supplies are available for service.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Formal Culinary qualifications
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a busy café / restaurant
  • Solid understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure

Qualifications

Formal Culinary qualifications (e.g. National Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent)
