About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated couple to join our intimate private luxury game lodge team in the Vaalwater area. As a key part of our reserve management and guest experience, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our game reserve and providing exceptional guiding experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • HIM: Field Guide / Maintenance & Reserve Manager:

• Conduct guided game drives and bush walks.

• Oversee reserve management, including habitat monitoring and conservation tasks.

• Handle vehicle and equipment maintenance.

• Manage infrastructure upkeep (roads, fencing, water systems).

• Supervise staff and contractors when required.

• Ensure guest safety and deliver exceptional guiding experiences.

  • HER: All-Rounder:

• Assist across lodge operations including housekeeping, kitchen, and front-of-house.

• Support guest relations and check-ins.

• Handle administration and reservations support.

• Assist with hosting and general lodge duties.

• Flexible support in areas such as stock control and staff coordination.

Requirements

  • HIM:

• FGASA Level 1 (minimum), higher levels advantageous.

• Valid PDP and First Aid certification.

• Minimum 35 years guiding and reserve management experience.

• Strong mechanical and maintenance skills.

• Leadership and team management ability.

  • HER:

• Hospitality qualification advantageous.

• Minimum 23 years lodge or hospitality experience.

• Strong organisational and multitasking ability.

Qualifications

HIM: FGASA Level 1 (minimum), higher levels advantageous. Valid PDP and First Aid certification. Minimum 35 years guiding and reserve management experience.
