Job Description: Accounts receivable, creditors, bank and balance sheet reconciliations Intercompany Reconciliation Responsible for checking correctness of information. About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our financial transactions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing administrative support to our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank, cash, and deposit processing on Pastel and FNB Online
  • Manage full debtors and creditors function, including reconciliations, payments, and collections
  • Process month-end and year-end journals, job costing, and landed cost calculations
  • Process monthly payroll for all branches, including statutory submissions and pension returns
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE (EMP201/EMP501), provisional tax, and dividend tax returns
  • Liaise with SARS, auditors, and external accountants on compliance, audits, and tax matters
  • Administer medical aid, Workmen Compensation, and company insurance
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts and comprehensive year-end audit packs

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in bookkeeping or a related field
  • Detailed orientated with strong organizational skills

Qualifications

Deg Finance/ National Diploma ICB Bookkeeping up to Balance

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As the key financial backbone of our organisation, you will be responsible for managing daily banking, cash, and deposit processing using Pastel and FNB Online. You will also take ownership of the full debtors and creditors function, including reconciliations, collections, and supplier payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle daily banking, cash, and deposit processing using Pastel and FNB Online
  • Take ownership of the full debtors and creditors function, including:
  • Reconciliations
  • Collections
  • Supplier payments
  • Prepare month-end and year-end journals, job costing, and landed cost calculations
  • Run monthly payroll for multiple branches, including statutory and pension submissions
  • Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE (EMP201/EMP501), provisional tax, and dividend tax returns
  • Act as the key liaison with SARS, auditors, and external accountants
  • Manage medical aid, COIDA, and company insurance administration
  • Compile quarterly management accounts and detailed year-end audit packs

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in bookkeeping or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail

Qualifications

Degree in Finance / National Diploma ICB Bookkeeping qualification up to Balance Sheet level

Key Responsibilities

  • Issuing invoices to customers
  • Ensuring timely collection of funds
  • Collating and checking that all received invoices comply with SARS regulations
  • Processing authorised invoices against delivery notes and purchase orders, in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitoring all accrual accounts and ensuring no items remain outstanding for unreasonable periods
  • Reconciling all vendor statements monthly prior to the payment run
  • Communicating with vendors to follow up on outstanding invoices and statements, and resolving related queries
  • Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date filing system for all creditor-related records
  • Photocopying documentation and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Monitoring monthly settlements to ensure adherence to agreed terms
