About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, responsible for managing and processing complex accounting transactions across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and process complex accounting transactions across multiple entities
Prepare and review reconciliations, accruals, journals, and monthly close activities
Review management accounts and supporting schedules prepared by junior team members
Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to junior finance staff
Review payments, customer invoicing, age analyses, and related documentation
Support cashflow management, including daily cash monitoring and short-term investments
Prepare VAT reconciliations and ensure accurate, timely submissions
Manage payroll-related accounting entries and statutory submissions
Calculate tax provisions and ensure ongoing tax compliance across entities
Oversee statutory filings, including annual returns, beneficial ownership, and COIDA submissions
Maintain corporate records such as share registers and resolutions
Assist with annual financial statements, audit preparation, and auditor engagement

Requirements

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
Minimum 2+ years post article experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
Experience in multi-entity, SME, fund, or development-focused environments preferred
Strong working knowledge of accounting systems
Intermediate to advanced Excel capability
Solid understanding of South African tax and statutory compliance

Qualifications

Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
Completed BCom degree
