About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing container and operational costing across producers, packhouses, and service providers, ensuring accurate cost allocations and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage container and operational costing across producers, packhouses, and service providers
  • Allocate, capture, and reconcile costs accurately using Xero and internal systems
  • Prepare and process weekly producer and creditor payments – local and foreign currency
  • Maintain cost recovery tracking, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Oversee packaging material cost tracking, stock movements, and invoicing
  • Prepare creditors cashflow schedules and support payment cycles
  • Support month-end close processes and financial controls
  • Assist with system support, process improvements, and finance procedures
  • Ensure accurate cost allocations to support grower payouts
  • Maintain strong relationships with operational stakeholders
  • Assist with audits and financial reviews where required
  • Provide ad-hoc operational finance support

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an FMCG / manufacturing costing environment
  • Xero experience non-negotiable
  • Strong experience in operational finance, costing, and reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel skills with high attention to detail
  • Background in export, agriculture, or logistics – advantageous

Qualifications

National Diploma OR Degree in Accounting OR Finance OR Equivalent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing and processing complex accounting transactions across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. You will provide day-to-day guidance and support to junior finance staff, as well as drive process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage reconciliations, accruals and journals to monthly reporting deadlines
  • Review monthly management accounts prepared by junior team members
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, query resolution, and on-the-job training for junior finance staff
  • Review intercompany, loan, customer, supplier and bank reconciliations
  • Review payment runs, customer invoices, age analyses and supporting forms
  • Ensure daily liquidity: monitor balances and invest excess cash in money market accounts
  • Prepare VAT reconciliations and submit final VAT returns
  • Submit EMP201 returns and ensure timeous settlement
  • Post salary journals to Xero and maintain ledger accuracy
  • Calculate tax provisions and allowances, manage tax compliance/audits across entities
  • File COIDA returns, obtain letters of good standing
  • File CIPC annual returns and beneficial ownership submissions, maintain share registers/resolutions
  • Prepare audit working papers, compile AFS inputs, liaise with auditors
  • Drive process improvements, ensure adherence to policies, procedures and legislation
  • Provide office liaison support as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of accounting experience in SME/NGO/financial services/fund management
  • SARS eFiling experience is non-negotiable
  • Strong proficiency with Xero/Sage/QuickBooks and IntermediateAdvanced Excel skills
  • Solid multi-entity/group accounting and intercompany reconciliations; consolidation exposure an advantage

Qualifications

  • BCom in Accounting or Finance
  • Any relevant designation (e.g. CIMA, ACCA) is advantageous

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for managing and processing complex accounting transactions across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with South African tax laws.

  • Manage and process complex accounting transactions across multiple entities

About the Role

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring fixed assets are accurately recorded, reconciled and maintained in accordance with accounting policies. The role includes preparing month-end journals, reviewing income statements, resolving balance sheet variances and producing monthly reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing month-end journals
  • Reviewing income statements
  • Resolving balance sheet variances
  • Producing monthly reconciliations
  • Overseeing tax computations
  • Submissions of VAT
  • Provisional tax payments
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Preparing statutory financial statements
