Are you looking to take full ownership of the finance function in a dynamic, multi-entity environment? This is your opportunity to make a real impact, not just crunch numbers. My client is part of a growing group of companies and need a hands-on Financial Accountant who thrives on responsibility. You’ll manage end-to-end accounting for one or two entities, working closely with operations to drive financial clarity and insight. What you’ll be doing: Own the full accounting cycle – from supplier and customer invoicing to reconciliation’s and month-end reporting Manage accounts payable and receivable with precision and follow-through Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and insightful variance analysis Lead cash-flow management and forecasting for your entities Ensure VAT submissions and statutory compliance are met Support annual audit processes and liaise with external auditors Maintain strong internal controls and robust financial records Collaborate with group and operational stakeholders to inform decision-making What we’re looking for: BComm in Accounting / Financial Management (essential) Completed SAIPA articles Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail Comfortable working independently with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset Clear communicator, especially when working with non-finance colleagues SME or multi-entity experience is a definite plus What’s in it for you: A role with real autonomy and visible impact Hybrid working with a professional and collaborative culture Exposure to group finance with room to grow into broader responsibilities A supportive environment where initiative is valued If you don’t hear back from us within 2 weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful. About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial governance and operational efficiency within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document financial transactions by entering and verifying account information.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Prepare annual financial statements.
  • Capture and reconcile debtors and creditors accounts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile inter-company loan accounts.
  • Maintain and enforce internal financial controls.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Prepare, complete, and submit all statutory and regulatory returns (VAT, PAYE, income tax, etc.).
  • Attend to SARS queries and provide necessary supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial legislation, standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage monthly payroll processing (experience advantageous).
  • Process supplier payments.
  • Respond to ad hoc accounting queries and operational finance requests.

Requirements

  • Education: Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or SAICA trainee articles (required).

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. This role involves managing and analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly end procedures including transaction processing up to trial balance
  • Submission of monthly financials on MPC
  • Analyzing and reviewing budgets and expenditures
  • Supervision of intercompany accounts reconciliation process
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, and other monthly reports
  • Involvement in the preparation of audit packs and tax packs as well as company statutory returns
  • Liaising with business unit managers regarding various accounting issues
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and capital processes
  • Recommending, developing, and maintaining financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems
  • Supervising the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems
  • Interacting with internal and external auditors as well as implementing and maintaining sufficient internal control environments

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Minimum 3 years motor industry experience (advantageous)
  • Knowledgeable of tax calculations
  • Strong on financial reporting and corporate governance
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Strong ability to reason with numerical information to influence and enable business and financial decisions
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

About the Role
