About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Accountant to join our client’s team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of the finance function, you will be responsible for managing daily financial operations and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations and maintain accurate bookkeeping records
- Prepare and post journals with strong proficiency in QuickBooks
- Produce monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and balance sheet reviews
- Conduct budgeting processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with our Cayman-based team on financial reporting, commentary, and deliverables
- Oversee payment workflows, account reconciliations, and ongoing cash flow monitoring
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, KYC procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Communicate directly with clients and external service providers to support financial inquiries and deliverables
Requirements
- Strong grasp in accounting principles (formal qualification preferred)
- 23 years of post-qualification experience in finance / accounting
- Proven experience preparing management accounts and managing end-to-end finance operations
- Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting platforms
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance, a proactive self-starter
- Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and a high level of accountability
- Confident communicator capable of engaging effectively with senior and international stakeholders
Qualifications
- Formal qualification in accounting (Bachelor’s degree or higher)
