About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating purchase orders on Pastel to suppliers using quotations as well as allocating expenses to the correct Ledger accounts.
- Sending purchase orders to variance suppliers and capturing invoices against purchase orders on Pastel as well as reconciling monthly Creditors Age analysis.
- Assisting with monthly control of stock on hand and movements of stock.
- Sorting out variances and writing off of expired stock and capturing information in Excel to send reports off to different managers.
- Raising of monthly journals: Asset Depreciation as well as working with intercompany loans.
- Assisting in Year End Auditing including Year End Journals for submission to auditors for Financial Statements.
Requirements
- A BCom Financial Accounting / Management Accounting or any related finance degree or diploma is preferred for the role.
- Previous experience having worked on Pastel Partner is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Previous experience having worked in a financial accounting or related role is preferred.
- Must have good Excel skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills are required.
