About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to take full ownership of our accounting function, working closely with a portfolio of 30 clients in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial processes, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Importing and processing bank statements
- Receipting of debtors
- Creditor payments
- Full bank reconciliations
- Billing of debtors & assisting with debtor reconciliations
- Posting special & correction journals
- Preparing monthly management packs
- Calculating and recovering monthly utilities
- Municipal account reconciliations
- Invoice and statement cycles
- Cash flow management
- Assisting with annual audits
- Preparing and presenting annual budgets
- Presenting financials at Annual General Meetings
- Running debit orders
- Reconciling suspense and control accounts
- Annual accruals
- Levy clearance certificates & closing journals
- VAT & PAYE submissions
- Maintaining and updating owner/tenant information
- General financial duties as required
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience as an Accountant or Article Clerk
- Relevant tertiary qualification (property industry experience advantageous)
