About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy taking a hands-on approach to problem-solving and task management, this role offers both challenge and opportunity for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet, bank accounts, fixed assets, and corporate cards.
  • Process and manage intercompany billing and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and run depreciation schedules.
  • Support month-end reporting cycles.
  • Track actual expenditure against budget and analyse expense trends/ variances.
  • Process and manage supplier payments, customer collections, and open items.
  • Support external auditors and tax consultants with required documentation.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, income tax, provisional tax, etc.) accurately and on time.
  • Maintain financial confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow daily.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience (depending on seniority level)
  • Experience in a multinational environment beneficial
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage and Xero) and Excel

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. This role requires a seasoned professional who can take charge of daily financial functions, operate independently with limited oversight, and provide support within the digital assets space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing daily financial operations and maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
  • Preparing and posting journals, with strong proficiency in QuickBooks required
  • Producing monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and balance sheet reviews
  • Conducting budgeting processes, financial reporting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinating with our Cayman-based team on financial reporting, commentary, and deliverables
  • Overseeing payment workflows, account reconciliations, and ongoing cash flow monitoring
  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls, KYC procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Communicating directly with clients and external service providers to support financial inquiries and deliverables

Requirements

Strong grasp of accounting principles (formal qualification preferred)

23 years of post-qualification experience in finance / accounting

Proven experience preparing management accounts and managing end-to-end finance operations

Proficient in QuickBooks and other accounting platforms

Able to work independently with minimal guidance, a proactive self-starter

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) preferred
