About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with tax laws.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all fixed asset purchases are recorded correctly in the general ledger
Report to the Finance Manager
Accurately review income statements
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations within specified deadlines
Resolve balance sheet reconciling items before month end
Oversee Income TAX & VAT returns compliances
Prepare annual statutory accounts and returns in accordance with relevant legislation
Review and approve supplier invoices on the Procurement Portal
Liaise with external auditors

Requirements

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in farming, FMCG, manufacturing, or retail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge in Fixed Asset Register
Experience in South African tax law
Highly organized and able to adapt to change
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
